LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Feb. 3, 2012) - Competing against many of the nation's top gymnasts, William and Mary sophomore Landon Funiciello placed 19th among all competitors on rings in the prelims at the Winter Cup Challenge inside the Las Vegas Sports Center on Wednesday evening.

Funiciello, who placed sixth on rings at the 2011 NCAA Championship and became the first W&M freshman to earn NCAA All-America honors, recorded a 14.050 in the event at the Winter Cup Challenge on Wednesday.   

Funiciello also competed on parallel bars and earned an 11.250 to place 63rd.

W&M will be in action again as a team when it competes at Arizona State next Friday, Feb. 10.
