WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (April 11, 2013) — The 12th-ranked William and Mary men's gymnastics team will be well represented at the NCAA Championships hosted by Penn State on April 19-21, as six Tribe standouts have qualified to compete as individuals.
Junior Landon Funiciello qualified for the national meet in four events – floor (14.237), rings (15.452), vault (14.712) and parallel bars (14.637). His rings average currently ranks fourth nationally.
Freshman Neal Courter, the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Co-Rookie of the Year, will also compete in multiple events – floor (14.937), vault (15.025) and high bar (13.912). Courter enters the meet ranked ninth nationally on vault and 15th on floor.
Junior Daniel Potemski will compete in all-around and currently ranks eighth in the country with an average of 83.7, while sophomore Jason Wang (pommel horse), junior Sam Patterson (parallel bars) and sophomore Michael Deitz (high bar) will also represent W&M.
