ELITE CAMP // June 17-19, 2013
$455 for Overnight Campers, $405 for Commuter Campers
Elite Camp is limited to high school-aged campers who will be entering grades 9 up through the freshman year of college. This is a highly competitive camp for individuals and teams.  Open to any and all.

DAY CAMP // August 9-11, 2013
9 AM - 12:30 PM, $150 for the Full Camp or $55 per day
Open to any and all. Teams are also welcome and encouraged to sign up together.

Payment/Refunds/Cancellation insurance

Camp Fees include daily instruction, reversible jersey, water bottle, shoulder pack and lanyard.  Overnight camps provide meals (lunch & dinner for commuters) and air-conditioned lodging for overnight campers.

As our costs cannot be recovered, Colonial Field Hockey Camp does not refund camp fees for injury, illness or cancellation within 45 days of the start of camp. A $100 deposit is non-refundable under any conditions.

Families may purchase a competitively priced cancellation insurance program similar to trip insurance. This is a comprehensive protection plan, created especially for camps by a third party provider with no connection to William & Mary or the Colonial Field Hockey Camp. ABOUT OUR CAMP

Our goal is to challenge each player to improve her individual skills as well as her understanding of team concepts. A creative curriculum, small teaching ratios, and an energetic and knowledgeable staff ensure an optimal learning environment. There will be opportunities to play with and be coached by the best in the game!

Sessions focus on skill development to enhance individual play, and small games to teach the concepts and strategies of team play. Goalkeepers receive specialized individual and group training throughout the entire camp. Additional special sessions may include topics such as sports psychology, team dynamics, international team experiences and video analysis.

Nightly coached games culminate with a camp tournament on the last day. Campers from the same school may compete as a team(s) in the night games if the high school coach requests that arrangement.

The Colonial Field Hockey Camp is directed and administered by the field hockey coaching staff at the College of William and Mary, an NCAA Division I program. The camp is a proud sponsor of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.

MEET THE STAFF...
Camp Director - Peel Hawthorne enters her 26th year as Head Coach of the W&M Field Hockey program and the 18th as Colonial Field Hockey Camp Director. During her tenure, the Tribe has NCAA Tournament appearances in 2000 and 2002. Hawthorne’s players have received 53 All-South Region and eight All-American honors. Hawthorne was named CAA Coach of the Year, in 1995, 2001, and 2004. She is a graduate of W&M and received her M.Ed. from the University of Virginia.

Head Camp Coach - W&M Assistant Coach Tess Ellis brings a wealth of international experience to Williamsburg. An 8-year member of the Australian National Indoor team, Tess was a Tribe assistant coach for 8 years before becoming the Head Coach of the USA Women’s Under 21 Team and an assistant for the USA National team. She returned to W&M from 2003 to 2009 as a volunteer assistant, and started full-time with the Tribe again in 2010. Tess co-founded the Colonial Field Hockey Camp at William & Mary and also operates the Colonial Field Hockey Club in here in Williamsburg.

Location/Facilities:
Chartered in 1693, The College of William and Mary is the second oldest university in the nation and is located in the heart of Colonial Williamsburg. The 2011 camp will be held at Busch Stadium, a lighted, newly resurfaced Astroturf 12 surface. A lighted FieldTurf field may also be utilized. The W&M campus offers an excellent sports camp environment! Area attractions include Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown, Prime Outlets, Busch Gardens and Water Country.



Lodging:
Resident Campers are housed in air-conditioned campus dorms. The dormitory is supervised by camp staff and requires a card key for entry. Rooms are typically furnished for 2 individuals with a common hall bathroom. Requests can be made in advance for campers wishing to room together but assignments are not guaranteed. Please note roommate request on the application form. No key deposit is required at check-in, however if you lose your key you will be charged $100.00.

Meals:
Meals are served on the second floor of the University Center, “Center Court RfoC” is one of William & Mary's "unlimited seconds" dining facilities. It is situated in the heart of campus near Zable stadium. There is a large selection of foods from a salad bar, deli section, pasta and many other food stations.

Supervision:
Campers are supervised by camp staff. Camp rules are posted and will be available on line. These are reviewed with campers at the first meeting. Compliance is required. Counselors are William and Mary student-athletes or other collegiate players. Counselors are selected for their maturity, responsibility and enthusiasm. Counselors attend training sessions and reside on the same halls as the campers. Head coaches are also housed in the same dorm. Staff assist campers in having a safe, rewarding and fun camp experience.

Medical Care:
Athletic Trainers will be on staff at all times to provide preventative and remedial care. Special first aid care supplies, athletic tape, and other medical needs are the responsibility of the individual. Signed medical release and insurance information must be on file for campers to participate. Emergencies will be treated either at the College Heath Service or the local hospital. Medical forms will be available on line and by regular mail.
