William and Mary volleyball's 2011 entering class received another boost in recognition recently, as two of the Tribe's signees were named to PrepVolleyball.com's National All-Academic team.  The selection was based on nominations turned in by high school and club team coaches, which included both academic and athletic achievements.

"Congratulations to Liz and Manon," said head volleyball coach Melissa Aldrich Shelton '91. "Each one of them is an amazing student, leader and volleyball player. It's easy to say they'll fit right in at W&M!  I'm happy they have been recognized for the work they put into their studies and am looking forward to working with them in the fall."

Liz Brown (Ellicott City, Md.) helped lead Centennial High to the Maryland 3A championship match in 2010, and was named Highest Honorable Mention.  Brown was a two-time team captain, and earned first-team All-Met honors from the Baltimore Sun.  Manon Murray (Greenboro, N.C.) was also named Highest Honorable Mention, after leading Grimsley High to a 20-3 record and the second round of the North Carolina 4A playoffs.  She averaged 4.4 kills and 2.1 digs per set in 2010, and was named Greensboro's 4A Metro Player of the Year.
