Moulton-Levy Competes on Grand Slam Stage at Wimbledon

WIMBLEDON, England - Former William and Mary women's tennis standout Megan Moulton-Levy made her Grand Slam debut in The 125th Championships Wimbledon on Thursday. In the opening round of the Ladies Doubles Main Draw, Moulton-Levy and her partner Lindsay Lee-Waters fell to Marina Erakovic (New Zealand) and Tamarine Tanasugarn (Thailand), 6-3, 6-2.

Moulton-Levy and Lee-Waters earned a qualifying spot in the doubles draw at Wimbledon on the strength of a pair of victories, including a come-from-behind three-set triumph to earn a spot in the main draw. A six-time All-American at W&M, Moulton-Levy owns eight ITF Women's Circuit doubles titles to go along with one singles title during her pro career. She is currently ranked No. 111 in the World Doubles Rankings and was ranked as high as No. 103 earlier this season. Moulton-Levy owns a career-best World Singles Ranking of No. 237 in 2009, but has focused on doubles this year.

One of the most decorated players in W&M and CAA history, Moulton-Levy was a two-time winner of the ITA National Arthur Ashe Jr. Award for Leadership and Sportsmanship. A four-time CAA Player of the Year, Moulton-Levy teamed with 2009 graduate Katarina Zoricic to win the ITA National Indoor Doubles Championship and advance to the finals of the NCAA Doubles Championship.
