Q: Why did you choose the Tribe?

I was looking for a challenging program in both academics and tennis. I liked the tennis team as well as the idea of a small campus - especially when it is as pretty as ours. When I visited the school I immediately had a good feeling about it.

Q: Describe a moment when you felt the most Tribe pride...

I often feel a lot of Tribe pride when athletes from different sports and other students come together to support a team, for example when everybody came out to cheer for men's soccer during NCAAs. If I had to pick a specific moment I would say seeing Anik Cepeda elegantly kicking the tennis ball out of her way during the match ball of the clinching match for the CAA championship.

Q: Take us through your pre-game mental preparation routine:

Before a match I usually like to take it easy. I don't have any specific mental routines. I just make sure I have all the things I need for the court so that there is nothing keeping me from having a good start!

Q: What are some community activities you or your team have done?

We took part in the NEDA walk for eating disorders last year on campus.

Q: What is your intended or declared major and why?

Marketing. The Mason Business School enjoys a great reputation and my two internships in the summer made me conscious about the curious world of advertising. I am also minoring in Hispanic Studies because I have a passion for Spanish.

Q: Describe your dream job:

That would be a job that never gets boring, provides good food and flexible hours, gives me enough of time for sports, friends and family, preferably has an outdoor pool for swimming sessions or cocktail parties...oh and good weather conditions and a nice paycheck are very welcome as well!

Q: If you could play another sport at W&M what would it be and why?

I would probably join the soccer team. However, I just recently discovered my love for swimming but judging by my swimming performance I should definitely hold on to soccer.

Q: Which teammate will have the most interesting job in 10 years and why?

Jeltje (Loomans) - she will be a professional tennis, field hockey and soccer athlete.

Q: What animal would best describe you and why?

My Chinese roommate from freshman year always said I resembled a deer. I never understood why and can't think of any other animals either. I like goats.

Q: What is your favorite quote or phrase?

"You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view - until you climb into his skin and walk around in it."
- spoken by Atticus Finch (Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird)

Q: What is your favorite type of food (i.e. Chinese, Mexican, etc.)?

 Seafood.

Q: Favorite place you have visited or traveled to and why?

Williamsburg. It is the only place away from Hamburg where I feel at home.

Q: If you could sit down for lunch with anyone in the world who would it be and why?

James Franco because he is beautiful.

Q: Most addicting television show?

Definitely How I met your Mother. I got obsessed with it and watched four entire seasons during and after finals last semester!

Q: How will you change the world (or even just one person's world)?

I will spread my undivided love for the best city in the world: my hometown Hamburg.

Q: Tell us something about yourself that most people don't know...

I sleep with earplugs and a sleeping mask.

Q: What was your most-commented Facebook post?

I don't know, maybe the video of the terrifying but hilarious clown dancing to Beyoncé Nina (Vulovich) put on my wall last year. It definitely would have deserved it (...for saving us in moments of utmost boredom).

Q: What's number one on your bucket list and why?

My goal is to become fluent in English, Spanish and French (in addition to German).

Q: What is your best non-athletic skill?

Organizing my time.

Q: What is your biggest pet peeve and why?

Unreliability and tardiness. It implicates a lack of respect and lets people down.

Q: What is something you are afraid of?

Losing what I care about.
