Jesse Ebner (Sinking Spring, Pa.) was named Rookie of the Week by the Colonial Athletic Association Tuesday, after her outstanding play over the weekend helped the Tribe field hockey team to a 2-0 record to start the year. It is the first weekly honor of Ebner's career.
Friday at Rutgers, the redshirt-freshman scored both goals in the Tribe's 2-1 victory over the Scarlet Knights while making her first collegiate appearance. Her first goal came on a rebounded save, and the second came on a tip-in that proved to be the eventual game-winner. Sunday at Monmouth, Ebner assisted on the Tribe's second goal of the contest, and put away another rebounded save later to put her team ahead 3-0.
Ebner and her teammates return to the field this weekend, hosting Longwood at 4 p.m. on Friday and Davidson at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
