WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The William and Mary Tribe women's basketball team will look to win for the fourth time in five games on Sunday, January 8 when the College will play host to the Hofstra Pride in a CAA conference matchup.  Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Kaplan Arena in Williamsburg.  Fans can follow along with the game action online with live stats, live video, and live audio available at TribeAthletics.com.

Tribe Storylines
- The William and Mary Tribe come in to Sunday's matinee with the Hofstra Pride with an overall record of 8-5 and a 1-1 mark in CAA conference play.  This past Thursday, the Tribe used a spirited second-half effort to come from behind and defeat the George Mason Patriots, 76-66, in Williamsburg.  Four players scored in double figures in the win, led by senior Taysha Pye with 21.

- Juniors Emily Correal and Janine Aldridge have been on fire for the Tribe of late, helping spark the College's strong play.  Correal has recorded three-straight double-doubles heading in to Sunday's game, averaging 19.7 points and 12.7 rebounds a game over that stretch.  Aldridge has also been playing well, pouring in an average of 17.5 points a game over her last four contests.

- In the overall series between the Tribe and the Pride, Hofstra holds an overall record of 20-8-1 record over the Green and Gold.  Hofstra has controlled the series of late, winning five straight over the College.  The two teams are very familiar with each other, as Sunday's meeting will be the seventh between the two squads in the past two years.

Scouting Hofstra
The Hofstra University Pride comes to Williamsburg on a bit of a roll, having won four of its last five contests.  The Pride enters the game with an overall record of 10-3 and a CAA conference mark of 2-0.  In league play, Hofstra posted an impressive 15-point road win at Georgia State and took care of business against Drexel this past Thursday, 76-65.

The Pride have posted some impressive wins so far in 2011-12, including victories over St. John's, Eastern Washington, and Kansas State.  Hofstra played one common non-conference opponent with the Tribe this year - Seton Hall.  The Pride dominated the Lady Pirates, 94-74, at home while the College went to the Hall and came away with a 61-54 win. Coming in to the season, the Pride was picked to finish fourth in the CAA in a preseason poll conducted by the conference's coaches.

Headlining the conference's highest-scoring offense so far this season has been junior All-American Shante Evans.  The 2011 All-CAA First-Team honoree is averaging a team-best 16.8 points a game and ranks second in the league in rebounding at 10.3 a game.  Sophomore guard Katelyn Loper is averaging 13.3 points a contest, while senior guard Nicole Capurso rounds out the Pride's double-figure scorers at 12.4 a game.

Correal Records Third-Straight Double-Double in Win over Mason
Junior forward Emily Correal continued her torrid play against the George Mason Patriots on January 5, posting her third-straight double-double.  The Venetia, Pennsylvania native poured in 19 points and collected 11 rebounds in the Tribe's 76-66 win over the Patriots at Kaplan Arena.  On the season, Correal has now recorded six double-doubles, pushing her career total to 13, the most for any current Tribe player.

Moving up in the Record Book ...
With her performance against George Mason on January 5, senior Katherine DeHenzel moved up in a pair of impressive career lists at the College.  DeHenzel now ranks third all-time in assists with 327, passing Sarah Stroh and also ranks fifth in school history in steals with 200, passing both Kyle DeHaven and Katie Averyt.  Senior Taysha Pye also moved up on the Tribe's all-time field goals made list in to sixth, passing Ashleigh Akens with 502 career buckets made.

Impressive RPI Numbers
William and Mary and the CAA as a conference got some good news when the NCAA released the latest RPI rankings on January 6.  The Tribe is now ranked No. 115 in the latest release, while the conference as a whole is ranked seventh, coming ahead of the West Coast Conference, the Atlantic 10, and the Missouri Valley to name a few.

Tribe in the National Rankings
In the latest national rankings released by the NCAA on January 6, the Tribe was well represented not only as a team but also in the individual rankings.  As a team, the College boasts the nations 62nd best scoring offense - impressive considering there are 336 Division I teams.  Individually, Janine Aldridge ranks fifth in the country in 3-pointers made a game at 3.3, while senior Katherine DeHenzel comes in at No. 18 in the nation in steals per game at 3.4.  Also, junior Emily Correal ranks 28th in double-doubles with six.
