RALEIGH, N.C. (March
9, 2012) - The William and Mary women's gymnastics team fell at No. 21
North Carolina State, 195.500 - 191.225, in a dual meet on Friday evening in
Raleigh, N.C.
W&M opened the meet on bars where freshman Stacia Ruse
led the team with a 9.750, which nearly equaled her career high and tied for
third overall. Senior Kristin Milardo and sophomore Jessica Pritchard also came
up big with a 9.700 and a 9.675, respectively, to contribute to the team total
of 48.375.
The College then moved to vault where it equaled its best
score of the season in the event with a 48.250. Milardo recorded a team-best
9.700, while junior Jennifer Ware equaled a career high with a 9.675. Pritchard
also performed well and earned a career-best 9.650.
Pritchard and freshman Maggie Lundeen both posted a 9.775 on
floor to help the Tribe record a team total of 48.125. The impressive mark
equaled a career high for Pritchard, while it nearly equaled a career best for
Lundeen.
W&M closed the meet on beam and was led by Pritchard's
9.625 en route to earning a team total of 46.475.
Pritchard posted a career-high 38.725 in all-around to place
second among all competitors. Milardo and Ruse also competed in all four events
and earned a 38.075 and a 37.925, respectively.
The Tribe will wrap up its regular-season slate next week
when it hosts a pair of meets. W&M will host Rutgers and North Carolina
State on Friday before welcoming Temple to Williamsburg for Senior Day on
Sunday.
