WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (March 29, 2012) - The
14th-ranked William and Mary men's gymnastics team will begin its postseason
schedule at the USAG Collegiate Championships hosted by Air Force this Friday
and Saturday. Competition will get underway each day at 5 p.m. (MST) at the
Academy's Cadet West Gym.
The USAG
Collegiate Championships will feature four varsity teams (W&M, Air Force,
Navy and Springfield), as well as three club programs (Arizona State, SUNY
Brockport and Washington).
Friday's
competition will include the team and all-around finals, as well as the individual
event preliminaries. The top eight performers (with no more than two gymnasts
per team) in each event will advance to the individual finals on Saturday. The
top six scorers in all-around and each event final will earn All-America honors.

W&M enters
this weekend's meet ranked among the nation's top 15 in four events as a team -
parallel bars, 13th (54.967), high bar, 14th (54.200), pommel horse, 15th
(54.633) and vault, 15th (56.600).
Individually,
sophomore Daniel Potemski has been the team's top all-arounder this season and
ranks ninth nationally with a four-score average of 83.767. Additionally, he
leads the team on floor (14.233), rings (14.167), vault (14.700) and parallel
bars (14.067). Freshman Peter Ten Eyck leads the Tribe on pommel horse
(13.733), while freshman J.J. Jindra owns the squad's top four-score average on
high bar (13.700).
Following this
weekend's meet, the Tribe will compete at the Eastern Collegiate Athletic
Conference Championships hosted by Temple next Friday and Saturday.
