The William and Mary women's track and field team wrapped up the regular season Saturday at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships, earning three all-conference awards and finishing eighth overall with 57.5 points.  James Madison won its first CAA Championship with 132 points, ahead of VCU (126.5) and defending champion Georgia State (122).  For the weekend, the Tribe totalled one individual title and had five All-CAA performers (finishing among the top three in an event).

Discus Throw
The Tribe's highest finish of the day came in the discus, where redshirt-junior Natalie Baird (Sterling, Va.) threw a season-best and ECAC-qualifying 47.29 meters (155-2) to take second overall.  It was the fourth-longest throw in school history.

Shot Put
Baird also competed in the shot put Saturday morning, adding another all-conference accolade with her third-place put of 13.36m (43-10).

1,500m Run
In the 1,500m, the College had three athletes score led by junior Katie Buenaga (Greenville, Del.).  Buenaga ran a career-best 4:33.39 for third place, and crossed the line just ahead of sophomore Clarissa Schick (Richmond, Va.).  Schick capped off a breakthrough weekend with another career-best, lopping another 1.5 seconds off of her prelim time and more than seven seconds for the entire weekend to finish fourth in 4:36.04.  Junior Michelle Britto (Woodbridge, Va.) was sixth in 4:37.73, scoring three more team points.

Triple Jump
Sophomore Nicole Dory (Fort Worth, Texas) tied her career-best in the triple jump from two weeks ago with a leap of 11.98m (39-3.75), this time with a legal wind of +0.3 meters/second to take seventh overall and add two team points.  It is tied for the second-longest jump in school history.

4x100m Relay
The Tribe's final team point came in the 4x100m relay, with an eighth-place showing.

With the regular season now complete, the Tribe turns its attention to the IC4A and NCAA Championships, as well as last-chance qualifiers for NCAAs and the Olympic Trials.  Next weekend brings the ECAC Championships at Princeton and the Swarthmore Last Chance distance races.
