WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - On
Monday, May 21st, two Tribe baseball players earned CAA-Weekly honors. Sophomore third baseman Ryan Lindemuth
garnered Player of the Week honors, while senior RHP Matt Davenport took home Co-Pitcher of the Week accolades.
For the week, Lindemuth batted .682 with nine RBIs, eight
runs scored and four doubles. In the
series against Hofstra, the Burke, Va., native compiled an average of .800 to
go along with seven runs scored, five RBIs and a home run. During the series finale on Saturday,
Lindemuth connected on a career-high six hits against the Pride. The weekly distinction is the second for
Lindemuth in his two seasons at the College.
In Friday's game-two doubleheader against Hofstra, Davenport
was exceptional as he pitched a complete-game, five hit shutout over the
Pride. In that game, the Chesapeake,
Va., native tallied a career-high 12 strikeouts while surrendering no walks. For the year, it was his sixth complete-game
and second complete-game shutout. In
all, Davenport has earned the CAA Pitcher of the Week distinction twice this
season.
For the year, four Tribe players garnered CAA weekly
distinctions five times. Prior to this
week's accolade, Davenport earned Pitcher of the Week honors on March 19. Junior
RHP Brett Koehler earned co-pitcher of the week honors during the season's
opening week. Freshman first baseman
Michael Katz took home rookie of the week honors for the week of April 9th,
while Lindemuth earned player of the week honors this week.
