WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Former William and Mary women's soccer All-American Ann Cook ('97) has been promoted to associate head coach at Penn State. For the past five seasons, Cook has served as an assistant for the Nittany Lions under former W&M teammate and current PSU head coach Erica Walsh.
Since joining the Penn State staff in 2007, Cook and Walsh have guided PSU to four Big Ten championships and five NCAA tournament appearances. Before arriving in State College, Cook served as an assistant at Nebraska and Missouri State. As a head coach at Drury University (1999-2000), Cook had the Panthers ranked fifth nationally in Division II during the 1999 campaign.
At William and Mary, Cook was a three-time All-America selection as she helped the Tribe to four NCAA tournament berths. In 1997, she garnered Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year honors and was named the CAA Tournament MVP. During her four years, she was selected to the CAA First Team four times and earned All-Region accolades on three occasions. In the Tribe career record books, Cook ranks second in assists (49), third in points (133) and fifth in goals (42).
