WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Recently, Jamie Pinzino was named the head baseball coach at
William and Mary on July 23. TribeAthletics.com sat down with Pinzino
to discuss taking over the Green and Gold program as well as his baseball
philosophy, William and Mary as a whole and his goals for the program. Monday's
video segment is the first of a three-part series that will be released
throughout the coming week.
Last season, Pinzino served as the
Tribe's pitching coach and recruiting coordinator as the College compiled a
31-25 record. W&M's pitching staff led the CAA in a number of categories,
while ranking 13th nationally in ERA (3.01), ninth in fewest walks per game
(2.3 BB/game), seventh in WHIP (1.17) and sixth in strikeouts per walk (3.06).
Pinzino spent six years as a head coach prior to his time in Williamsburg, including
guiding Bryant University from Division II to Division I. Twice during his
tenure at Bryant, Pinzino was named the conference coach of the year, including
2010 after leading the Bulldogs to the Northeast Conference Championship.
