WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Members
of the William and Mary men's soccer team will be serving the Williamsburg
community this weekend. A number of student-athletes will volunteer at the
Sentara and American Pride Automotive Vineyards of Williamsburg 5K run to
benefit Child Development Resources on Saturday, Aug. 11.
Child Development Resources (CDR) was founded in
Williamsburg in 1966 as a preschool for special children. Today, CDR benefits
and cares for an estimated 1,000 children and their families each year. An
extensive asset for parents, teachers and physicians, CDR spearheads Virginia's
Infant and Toddler Specialist Network.

services to young children and families and training and technical assistance
for the professionals who serve them.

Tribe men's soccer will open the 2012 season in Richmond,
Va., playing in a tournament hosted by Atlantic-10 foe Virginia
Commonwealth. On Aug. 24, W&M will
face off against Butler in a 5 pm. affair before playing VCU on Aug. 26, in a
match slated for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
Before opening the 2012 campaign, the Green and Gold will
play a pair of exhibitions against in-state opponents. On Monday, Aug. 13, the
College will travel to Longwood for a scrimmage slated to get underway at 6
p.m., and on Saturday, Aug. 18, W&M will host Virginia Tech at
Martin-Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field in an exhibition match scheduled for
a 7 p.m. start.
