Tribe Men?s Soccer Lends a Hand in the Community

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The William and Mary men's soccer team lended a hand in the Williamsburg community yesterday, as their afternoon was devoted to helping out Child Development Resources (CDR) in their annual 5K run to benefit the CDR organization. While interacting with the kids, the Tribe helped out with the Fun Run registration and post-run cleanup.

TribeAthletics.com got the chance to talk will head coach Chris Norris, junior defenseman Will Smith and CDR's Director of Development Allison Brody about Sunday's function.

Child Development Resources (CDR) was founded in Williamsburg in 1966 as a preschool for special children. Today, CDR benefits and cares for an estimated 1,000 children and their families each year. An extensive asset for parents, teachers and physicians, CDR spearheads Virginia's Infant and Toddler Specialist Network.

W&M will be in action tonight, as it travels to Longwood University in its first of two preseason exhibition matches. Tonight's contest is slated for 6 p.m.  W&M will host Virginia Tech in its second exhibition match scheduled for Aug. 18, at 7 p.m. at Martin-Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field.

The Tribe will open the 2012 campaign on Aug. 24, against Butler University, in a tournament hosted by in-state foe Virginia Commonwealth. Kickoff in Richmond Va., is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
