Tribe to Open 2012 Season at Maryland this Saturday

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - William and Mary will kickoff the 2012 season when it plays at Maryland this Saturday at 3 p.m.

The game will be broadcast by ESPN3, while live audio and live stats will be available through TribeAthletics.com.

Saturday's contest will mark the seventh consecutive season in which W&M has squared off against an Atlantic Coast Conference opponent. The College has played well in many of those contests, as it opened the 2009 season with a 26-14 victory at Virginia and held a double-digit fourth quarter lead at North Carolina in 2010.

W&M and Maryland have met four times, with each team earning a pair of victories. Maryland claimed initial meeting, 17-0, in 1905, while W&M won back-to-back games in 1945 and 1946. The squads last played in 2006, as UM earned a 27-14 triumph in College Park, Md.
