WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - After nearly defeating Maryland in its season opener last weekend, the Tribe will look to bounce back when it hosts Lafayette on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Live video and audio of the broadcast will be available at TribeAthletics.com.

Tickets can be purchased at TribeAthletics.com or by calling the ticket office at 757-221-3340.

W&M posted an outstanding effort defensively against the Terps last Saturday and held UM scoreless until midway through the fourth quarter. Additionally, the College forced four turnovers and allowed just 236 yards of total offense. Senior all-conference safety Brian Thompson highlighted a number of impressive individual performances and was honored as the Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week.

Although W&M and Lafayette have combined to play 2,362 games, Saturday's contest will mark the first meeting between the two programs. Lafayette began playing football in 1882 and has posted a 654-559-39 all-time record, winning national championships in 1896, 1921 and 1926. W&M fielded its first team in 1893 and has posted a 541-528-41 all-time record.

W&M boasts a 19-8 all-time record against teams currently in the Patriot League. A third of those contests have come against Lehigh, as the College owns an 8-1 mark versus the Mountain Hawks. However, Lafayette is one of just two Patriot League teams that W&M has never played - the other is Fordham.

The Tribe has experienced tremendous success in its home openers under the leadership of head coach Jimmye Laycock, as the program owns a 23-9 record in those contests during his tenure. W&M has won its last four home openers by an average margin of 23 points.
