WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - After
an outstanding week on the pitch, William and Mary senior midfielder Mallory Schaffer was named the CAA Co-Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
For the week, the Allison Park, Pa., native tallied two
goals and an assist. Against Richmond on Aug. 29, Schaffer tallied the Green
and Gold's third goal of the night to go along with an assist. On Sunday, Sept. 2, Schaffer netted the
game-winner at Auburn with a penalty kick score in the 29th minute. For the year, she leads W&M with nine
points coming on four goals and an assist.
One of the most decorated players in the College's
history, Schaffer has earned CAA Player of the Week accolades on three
occasions. For her career, Schaffer has
netted 35 goals and 12 assists.
The Tribe returns to action this weekend playing in a
tournament hosted by Villanova. On Friday, Sept. 7, W&M will match up
against the host Wildcats in an 11 a.m. tilt, and on Sunday, Sept. 9, the
