WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The William and Mary football team will
square off against a nationally ranked opponent for the second-consecutive week
when it hosts No. 12 Delaware on Saturday at 7 p.m.
The contest will be televised live
regionally by Comcast SportsNet. Live video and audio of the broadcast, as well
as live stats, will be available at TribeAthletics.com.
Tickets
can be purchased at TribeAthletics.com
or by calling the ticket office at 757-221-3340.
Although W&M enters the contest with a 0-3 record,
its losses have come by a combined seven points. Delaware owns a 3-0 mark
this season, while all of its victories have come at home against
non-conference foes.
Saturday's game will mark the 37th
meeting between W&M and Delaware, as UD controls the all-time series,
21-15. The College owns a 10-9 edge against Delaware in games played in
Williamsburg. The Blue Hens snapped W&M's three-game series winning streak
last season with a 21-0 triumph in Newark.
In the
previous 20 meetings as league foes, W&M and UD have put up remarkably
similar numbers as W&M is averaging 24.9 points per game while UD has put up
26.4 points per game. Although five of the last six meetings have been decided
by double-digit margins, the 11 games between 1996 and 2004 were decided by a
touchdown or less seven times.
