William and Mary freshman Dessi Koleva (Torrance, Calif.) was selected as the Colonial Athletic Association's Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the second-consecutive week Monday, after earning MVP honors and leading the Tribe to the team title at the Colonial Challenge last weekend.  Koleva is the first W&M freshman to be named Rookie of the Week in back-to-back weeks since Cassie Crumal '11 was so-honored in 2007 (Aug. 27 & Sept. 4).

Koleva and the Tribe went 3-0 to win the title at Kaplan Arena last weekend, recording victories over Elon, Howard, and Hamptn along the way.  The freshman hitter ranked fourth among all players in the tournament in kills (2.89), points (3.22), and attack percentage (.321), and also led her team in the latter category.  Koleva was especially impressive in two matches on Saturday, scoring 14 kills on a .500 attack against Hampton and seven kills on a .312 attack against Hampton.

William and Mary begins conference play this weekend, traveling to face UNCW at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22.
