The William and Mary men's golf team wrapped up play at the Joe Agee Invitational Tuesday, shooting 296 (+12) in the round and finishing third overall in the 11-team event at 873 (+21).  High Point won the team title by a single stroke over Radford, 861-862, and the Panthers' Chase Wilson also claimed the individual title by a stroke with his 54-hole total of 206 (-7).

Senior Jeremy Wells (Hopewell, Va.) was one of only four players in the entire tournament to shoot par or better on Tuesday, using a well-timed eagle on the 16th to finish the day at 71 (E).  Wells finished the tournament fourth overall at 212 (-1).  Sophomore Alex Hicks (Cape May Court House, N.J.) also earned a top-10 finish in the event, tying for seventh at four-over (217) following a final-round 74.  Juniors Tanner Taddeo (Hendersonville, Tenn.) and Michael Bekken (Blacksburg, Va.) shot matching rounds of 76 to finish tied for 15th at 223 (+10), and classmate Nick Schafer (Arlington, Va.) closed with 75 to round out the team effort in a tie for 29th at 228 (+15).

W&M's four individual players were led by sophomore Joey Shroyer (Victoria, Minn.), who tied for 25th at 14-over after shooting 77 on Tuesday.  Junior Patrick Leisure (Charlottesville, Va.) also had 77 in the final round to finish in a tie for 36th, one shot behind sophomore Charlie Kern (Seattle, Wash.) (35th overall, +18).  Senior Charles Godfrey (Tampa, Fla.) improved by two strokes in the final round to shoot 78, and improved in the standings as well to a tie for 46th.
