William and Mary senior Jeremy Wells (Hopewell, Va.) was named the co-Golfer of the Week Wednesday by the Colonial Athletic Association, after leading the Tribe at the Joe Agee Invitational. It is the second weekly award of Wells' career, after he was also honored following the Joe Agee Invitational in 2011-12.
Wells finished fourth overall in the 11-team tournament held Monday and Tuesday at The Williamsburg Club. He shot 69-72-71 (-1 overall) on the par-71 course, and was one of just four players to come in at par or better in Tuesday's final round. Through two tournaments so far, Wells leads the Tribe by a stroke-and-a-half, averaging 72.17 strokes per round.
William and Mary is back in action this weekend, competing at the Cobra/Puma Invitational on Sunday and Monday. The 54-hole event is being held at the Miromar Lakes Golf Club, in Fort Myers, Fla.
