WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The William and Mary women's soccer team will play a pair of Colonial Athletic Association road matches this weekend, begining with a contest at George Mason on Friday at 7 p.m.  On Sunday, the College will travel to Towson in a match scheduled for a 1 p.m. kickoff.  Fans can follow the weekend action online at TribeAthletics.com with live stats.  Live video of the George Mason match is available at GoMason.com at a price of $8.95.

Scouting the Tribe
The Tribe enters the weekend with an overall record of 7-3 and a CAA mark of 1-0.  In its league opener against JMU, sophomore Emory Camper netted the game-winning goal in the 72nd minute, while freshman Nicole Baxter put the contest out of reach, heading in her third goal of the season in the 84th minute.  Senior Mallory Schaffer leads the Tribe with 16 points on seven goals and two assists, while classmate Cortlyn Bristol has tallied two goals and a team-high five assists.  Baxter continues to impressive, accounting for seven points on three scores and one helper.  Junior Dani Rutter and sophomore Emory Camper have recorded two goals each, while senior Erin Liberatore and junior Audrey Barry have netted a goal a piece.

Scouting George Mason
The Patriots entertain the Tribe on Friday evening with a record of 4-6-1.  Last weekend, Mason opened conference play with a pair of road matches, battling Drexel to a 1-1 draw before dropping a 2-1 decision at Delaware.  Senior Tiana Kallenberger leads GMU with 17 points on seven goals and three assists, while sophomore Liz Hodges has netted four scores.  GMU head coach Diane Drake is in her ninth season at the helm of the Patriots program.

Scouting Towson
Before hosting the Tribe on Sunday afternoon, the Tigers will welcome Old Dominion to the Tiger Soccer Complex on Friday night.  For the year, Towson is 0-9-1, with one goal being the difference in five of its setbacks.  Last weekend, the Tigers opened CAA play dropping a pair of road games at Delaware, 1-0, and at Drexel, 4-0.  Senior forward Cheyenne Skidmore leads the Tigers' attack with three goals, while sophomore Katlyn Axenfeld and freshman Hollie Garber have each netted a score.  TU head  coach Greg Paynter is in his sixth season at Towson. 

News and Notes:
- Since the series inception in 1982, the College owns an 18-13-4 record against George Mason.  Last season, the Green and Gold downed the Patriots, 3-1, in Williamsburg behind senior Mallory Schaffer's two goals.

- In its brief series history, W&M is 8-0-2 against Towson.  Last year, senior Mallory Schaffer poured in two goals, while classmate Erin Liberatore netted a score en route to the Tribe's 5-0 victory over the Tigers.

- The College is receiving votes in the latest Top-25 NSCAA National Poll, while it ranks first in the Mid-Atlantic region.  W&M was tabbed 37th in TopDrawerSoccer.com's weekly ranking of the best 64 teams in the country.

- W&M ranks seventh in the country with a shutout percentage of 0.70.  Additionally, the Tribe's 1.8 goals per outing rank 40th in the nation, while its 0.87 save percentage stands at 20th.  Individually, senior Mallory Schaffer ranks 31st in the nation with seven goals on the year.  The Allison Park, Pa., native's 16 points stand 50th in the country, while her 1.6 points per match rank 45th.  Senior Cortlyn Bristol's five assists rank 33rd in the country, while her 0.5 helpers per outing stand at 40th.

- The Green and Gold leads the CAA in assists (17), assists per game (1.7), goals allowed (7) and shutouts (7).  Senior Mallory Schaffer ranks third in the league with 16 points, while classmate Cortlyn Bristol's nine points stand in a tie for eighth.  Freshman keeper Caroline Casey's five shutouts are tied for most in the conference, while her goals against average (0.73) and save percentage (.844) rank second.    

- Last Sunday, the Tribe opened CAA play with a 2-0 victory over James Madison.  After a scoreless first-half in which the College was held with out a shot, the Green and Gold erupted for two-goals and 13 shots in the final 45-minutes.  With an overall record of 7-3 and league mark of 1-0, W&M sits a top the CAA standings.
