RICHMOND, Va. (Oct. 1, 2012) - After an
outstanding performance in William and Mary's victory against Georgia State,
redshirt freshman linebacker Luke Rhodes has been selected as the Colonial
Athletic Association Rookie of the Week.
Rhodes equaled
a team high with eight tackles, including five solo stops, against the
Panthers. He also recorded a PBU.
The
Hollidaysburg, Pa., native was instrumental in W&M's success defensively,
as the College held GSU to just three points and 249 yards of total offense.
Rhodes
currently leads the Tribe in tackles (41) and tackles for a loss (3.5), while
he ranks fifth in the CAA with 8.2 tackles per game.
W&M will
return to action when it plays at Penn this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The Tribe's
next home game will be against Maine on Oct. 27, when it hosts the Black Bears
for Homecoming. Ticket information is available by clicking here or by calling
