WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - William
and Mary women's soccer senior midfielder Cortlyn Bristol was named the CAA
Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
The Chantilly, Va., native scored the game-winning goals in the Tribe's weekend
matches against George Mason and Towson. The accolade marked Bristol's second career CAA
Player of the Week distinction and the first this season.
In the match at George Mason, Bristol's goal in the 60th
minute proved to be the difference against the Patriots. Her third goal of the season culminated on a
shot 18-yards away that sailed into the upper right corner of goal. At Towson, the sensational senior struck
early, netting the game-winning goal in the eight minute of the College's 5-0 victory at Towson. Spreading the wealth, Bristol assisted on
senior Mallory Schaffer's goal in the 18th minute in the decisive five-goal win. On the year, Bristol leads the Tribe with six assists to along with four goals. For her career, she has netted 12 game-winners, which include three this season.
The Tribe returns to action on Thursday, Oct. 4, as it plays
host to UNCW. Kickoff from Martin Family
