WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -
William and Mary women's gymnastics head coach Mary Lewis has announced the
Tribe's 2013 schedule, which features nine regular-season competitions and
three home meets.
Following the
annual Green and Gold exhibition on Dec. 7, the Tribe's competitive season will
officially get underway when it hosts Towson at Kaplan Arena on Jan. 12. The
competition against the Tigers will be W&M's Pink Meet, which is designed
to help promote cancer awareness.
W&M will
then close out the month of January with a road tri-meet at North Carolina
(with George Washington) on Jan. 20.
Following an
open week, the College will hit the road for three road competitions during the
month of February. The Tribe will begin the stretch with a quad-meet hosted by
West Virginia (with Oklahoma and Western Michigan) on Feb. 1 before heading to
George Washington on Feb. 11 and to North Carolina State for the Sweetheart
Invitational (with Bowling Green, George Washington, North Carolina and
Pittsburgh) on Feb. 16.
After another
open weekend, W&M will resume competition with a tri-meet hosted by Rutgers
(with Cornell and Brockport) on March 2.
Following its
final road meet of the season at North Carolina State on March 10, W&M will
wrap up its regular-season slate with home meets against Yale (March 15) and
Temple (March 17).
This season's
ECAC Championship will be hosted by Cornell on March 23, while the NCAA
Regional follows two weeks later on April 6 at either Florida or West Virginia.
