This season, the Tribe will be led by its five-member senior class of Emily Correal, Janine Aldridge, Taylor Hilton, Jaclyn McKenna and Chanel Murchison.  As a group, the class has combined for 2,973 points and 1,665 rebounds in 275 games started for the Green and Gold.

Scouting the Pirates
East Carolina enters the 2012-13 campaign coming off a record of 12-19 last season, which included a 5-11 mark in Conference USA action.

This season, the Pirates were picked to finish 11th (11-of-12) in the league's predicted order of finish.  ECU returns 11 players from last year's squad that averaged 58.9 points per game.  Junior Kristine Mial headlines the Pirate returnees, as the Springfield, Va., native averaged 8.7 points and 4.1 rebounds in 2011-12.

Head coach Heather Macy enters her third season at the helm of the East Carolina program and owns a mark of 28-34 during her time in Greenville, N.C.

News and Notes:
-
Senior forward Emily Correal was selected to the Colonial Athletic Association Preseason Second-Team on Oct. 31 at the annual CAA Basketball media day event held in Arlington, Va.  Correal enters her senior season as one of the league's most talented post players.  The Venetia, Pa., native posses the ability to score on the block and from the perimeter, which was evident as she poured in 18 second-half points in last season's CAA Tournament first-round tilt against VCU.  In 2011-12, Correal averaged a career-high 13.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game, which included 11 double-double performances.

- Friday's game will be the 43rd meeting between W&M and ECU, as the Pirates own a 31-11 series advantage.  The squads last met in 2001, as ECU squeaked out a 59-56 win at Kaplan Arena.  In W&M's last seven wins against ECU, the College has won by an average score of, 67.4 - 52.4.

- Since 1998, the Green and Gold has posted a mark of 7-7 in season openers.  Last year, the Tribe handled Cornell, 85-54, in the 2011-12 debut as seniors Janine Aldridge and Jaclyn McKenna poured in 24 and 20 points, respectively.

- In its seven season-opening victories since 1998, the College has averaged 70.1 points, while it has held the opposition to 52.4.  Furthermore, W&M is 13-9 in home openers since 1990.

- The 2012-13 CAA predicted order of finish was unveiled at media day on Oct. 16, as the Tribe was tabbed to finish in a tie for ninth in the league.  Delaware, which captured its first league title last season, was picked to repeat as conference champions in 2012-13.  Meanwhile, James Madison and Hofstra were picked to finish second and third, respectively.
