WILLIAMSBURG, Va.
(Feb. 6, 2013) -
William and Mary head football coach Jimmye Laycock has announced the Tribe's
2013 signing class, which includes 12 student-athletes who have signed National
Letters of Intent with the Tribe this afternoon.
"Our staff did an
excellent job of identifying and addressing our needs," Laycock said. "One
area we focused on was depth on the offensive front. Beyond that we concentrated on versatility,
and I think we attracted a good group of young men whom I expect to make a
positive impact on our program. While
the staff did a thorough job along the entire eastern seaboard, I was especially
pleased with talented group of eight student-athletes we brought in from
Virginia."
In addition to eight
signees from Virginia, the class also includes players from Maryland,
Pennsylvania, New Jersey and North Carolina. The group consists of three
offensive linemen, two defensive backs, a quarterback, running back, tight end,
wide receiver, linebacker, linebacker/defensive end and defensive back/wide
receiver.
Complete bio information
for all 12 signees is available below.
The Tribe's annual Green
and Gold Spring Game is scheduled for April 13 at Zable Stadium. W&M will
open the 2013 season at West Virginia on Aug. 31.
