WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -
William and Mary senior RHP John Farrell was named the Colonial Athletic
Association Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. Farrell turned in an outstanding performance
in the Saturday win over Clemson, as the Tribe notched its first road victory
over Atlantic Coast Conference competition since defeating Virginia in 2008. The
distinction is the first career for the Andover, Mass., native.
Farrell garners the pitcher of the week accolade after an
impressive outing in the Tribe's 11-2 win at Clemson on Saturday
afternoon. On a cold and blustery day at
Doug Kingsmore Stadium, Farrell worked seven innings as he surrendered just two
earned runs, while posting four strikeouts.
Furthermore, in the 29 batters that he faced, Farrell allowed only one
walk.
Tribe baseball returns to action this afternoon at
Virginia. The first pitch at Davenport
Field in Charlottesville, Va., is slated for 3p.m., and fans can follow the
action online at TribeAthletics.com with live stats.
