Tribe Third Entering Final Day at CAA Golf Championships

The William and Mary men's golf team enters the final day of the Colonial Athletic Association Championships in third place at 610 (+34), just seven strokes out of second.  UNCW had a massive 22-stroke improvement in the second round to establish is margin over the Tribe, and leads the field by 15 over James Madison, 588-603.  The Seahawks' Payne McLeod was one of two UNCW players to shoot 67 (-5) Saturday, and leads the individual standings at 140 (-4).

Leading the way for W&M for the second day in a row was sophomore Alex Hicks (Cape May Court House, N.J.), show shot a 73 Saturday to stand alone in second place at 144 (E).  Senior Jeremy Wells (Hopewell, Va.)  carded a 75 to stand tied for seventh at 149 overall.  Junior Tanner Taddeo (Hendersonville, Tenn.) had an 80 on the day to move to a tie for 20th, and sophomore Charlie Kern (Seattle, Wash.) is one stroke back in a tie for 22nd after improving three strokes to shot 78 (+6).  Classmate Joey Shroyer (Victoria, Minn.) improved two strokes on the day, and rounds out the team effort in a tie for 28th with an 80 of his own.

The CAA Championships wrap up Sunday with one round beginning at 8 a.m.
