The William and Mary men's golf team wrapped up its fall season on a high note, improving its score 11 strokes overnight and shooting up the leaderboard to finish ninth out of 26 teams at the Wendy's Kiawah Classic.  The Tribe shot 296 (+12) in Tuesday's final round to leapfrog four teams, and finished with a three-day total of 905 (+53), just nine strokes out of fifth.  South Carolina won the team title by 20 strokes with its 7-over 859, and also had the individual champion in Caleb Sturgeon, who shot 210 (-3).

Sophomore Alex Hicks (Cape May Court House, N.J.) was the Tribe's top finisher, shooting 74 on Tuesday and improving 10 spots to finish in a tie for 19th at 222 (+9) overall.  Senior Jeremy Wells (Hopewell, Va.) and junior Tanner Taddeo (Hendersonville, Tenn.) each shot a team-best 73 (+2) on the day, with Wells improving more than 15 spots to a tie for 28th at 224.  Taddeo improved over 30 spots, tying for 67th at 233.  Junior Patrick Leisure (Charlottesville, Va.) carded a 76 (+5) in the final round, and finished in a tie for 81st overall at 236 (+23), and classmate Michael Bekken (Blacksburg, Va.) closed out the team effort with his round of 78, tying for 105th.

With the fall season complete, William and Mary is off until Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate, Feb. 18-19 in Florence, S.C.
