Q: Why did you choose the Tribe?
I felt a strong sense of community from the moment I stepped on campus.  I love the athlete community and everything about it.

Q: Describe a moment when you felt the most Tribe pride...
One of our former team members, Rob Sagar, passed away in the middle of last semester.  We all went to the funeral up in Northern Virginia.  It was one of the saddest things I’ve experienced.  At one point, everyone was crying.  I looked to my left and my right, I looked ahead of me, and behind me, and all I could see was a sea of green.  For about 5 Church pews deep, and 12 people in each pew, it was a mass of green track jackets.  In addition to that, alumni sat with us, in their track jackets too.  It was a moment that I was proud to be a part of this tribe.

Q: What’s an example of how your coach motivates you?
By giving us tough workouts.  Even though I hate [Stephen Walsh] for that hour and a half and I may, or may not, curse his name in my head, I am thankful that he is there.  Because if every day were easy, then how can you get better? You can’t.  You have to push harder than the last workout, and be tougher than last week.  I definitely could not do it without him.

Q: Take us through your pre-meet mental preparation routine:
I paint my nails.  I have this weird thing where I just need to do it.  Also, I always only race in black socks.  I don’t really have a routine, I just go over the race once in my head and my coach and I plan out the best strategy for the race.  I know the splits I’m supposed to hit.  You can’t over think it, or else you’ll already be mentally tired before you even toe the line.

Q: Do you belong to any other clubs, groups, or organizations?
I am part of the Catholic Church group on campus.

Q: What are some community activities you or your team has done?
We work some local races for out volunteer job each semester.  I personally love community service.  I actually really like to go to the homeless shelter and give out meals.  My family and I used to do it before I went to college.  We do some type of service work right around the holidays every year.

Q: Intended major?
Psychology...I plan to enter the school of education and from there I will work towards my masters in elementary education.

Q: Describe your dream job:
Working with kids! I love kids and I want to teach kindergarten.  I have also wanted to go to Africa...Soo...maybe do something with education over there.  That would be amazing.

Q: If you could play another sport at W&M what would it be?
The kicker on the football team.  When we practice it always looks like he just kicks and never tackles.

Q: Favorite team tradition/activity?
Ice bath...Not!

Q: Which teammate will have the most interesting job in 10 years and why?
Probably Betsy Graney [Steeplechaser].  Hopefully she will be some stud athletic trainer and I will make connections through her and meet all the sweet athletes.

Q: What animal would best describe you?
The squirrel in the movie “Over the Hedge,”...He’s majorly ADD.

Q: What is your favorite quote or phrase?
-Isaiah 40:31.
“Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you. If anyone hits you on the cheek, let him hit the other one too; if someone takes your coat, let him have your shirt as well. Give to everyone who asks you for something, and when someone takes what is yours, do not ask for it back. Do for others just what you want them to do for you.”
 -Jesus

Q: Guilty pleasure food?
Chocolate chip pancakes  but I don’t feel guilty about them because I love them so much.  And Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. And Mcdonalds.  Actually, anything chocolate and very unhealthy.

Q: Your favorite food/dish at the Caf?
Peanut butter and jelly.  Toasted.  And the molten lava cake.

Q: Favorite place you have visited or traveled to?
Spain. Hands down.

Q: If you could sit down for lunch with anyone in the world who would it be?
DEREK JETER.

Q: Most addicting television show?
Desperate Housewives, Keeping up with the Kardashians...I’m really embarrassed to say.

Q: How will you change the world (or even just one person’s world)?
By making at least one person happy every day.  I like to see people smile.

Q: Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know...
