Q: Why did you choose
From the moment my parents took me to my first Tribe football game at a month old, I have loved the college ever since. It has the perfect combination of challenging academics and athletics as well as an amazing campus, community, and location. Plus, there is so much Tribe tradition in my family... where else would I go?
Q: Describe a moment
when you felt the most Tribe pride...
I love that feeling right when we are about to walk out on the floor. Also, anytime I attend a WM sporting event... our teams and fans always have so much support for each other that I am always glad to say I am part of the Tribe.
Q: Take us through
your pre-game mental preparation routine:
The night before the meet, I usually visualize my routines. I also like to pray, listen to music, and get pumped up with the team by cheering right before we go out on the floor.
Q: Do you belong to
any other clubs, groups, or organizations?
Peer advising, National Society for Collegiate Scholars, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society
Q: What are some
community activities you or your team have done?
As a team, we've helped with the walk for juvenile diabetes, the NEDA walk, the Patriot Triathlon, and local club gymnastics meets. I have also been part of the Tribe Tutors program.
Q: What is your
intended or declared major and why?
Neuroscience and kinesiology. The way the human body works has always been truly fascinating, especially the brain. I have loved all the classes so far, and it provides me with a great background for grad school or med school.
Q: Describe your dream
A skilled doctor and sports photographer. Really just anything that continues to challenge me, keeps me active, helps others, and is something that I absolutely love!
Q: If you could play
another sport at W&M what would it be and why?
Definitely soccer. I played up through my junior year of high school and loved every minute of it.
Q: Favorite team
tradition/activity and why?
"What time is it? It's tribe time!" I love when we huddle up and chant this before home meets. We all get so pumped up and ready to represent the Tribe at home! I also love our lock-in the night before our first meet.
Q: Which teammate will
have the most interesting job in 10 years and why?
I am sure Larson will have a pretty interesting job ten years from now. She is extremely talented and passionate toward whatever she does, and she is one that is going to be able to do anything she sets her mind to. I can't wait to see where she goes from here with her applied math and government degrees.
Q: What is your
favorite quote or phrase?
"Live in the moment because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you can never get back."
Q: What is your
favorite type of food (i.e. Chinese, Mexican, etc.)?
I love seafood! Then again, I just love all food in general!
Q: Favorite place you
have visited or traveled to and why?
Hilton Head, South Carolina. I have gone there almost every summer with my family, and I just love all the memories I have from growing up there over the years. It's like a second home. And you can't beat how pretty it always is on the beach and being able to bike everywhere!
Q: If you could sit
down for lunch with anyone in the world who would it be and why?
Maybe a fortuneteller? It would be interesting to see what I will be doing with my life in ten years or so and what the world will be like. I also love any time I can sit down for a meal with my family because they all mean so much to me and we have so much fun together.
Q: Most addicting
SURVIVOR! I have literally never missed an episode in the 23 seasons it has aired since 2000! House or criminal minds are also up there.
Q: How will you change
the world (or even just one person's world)?
I hope I can be a positive influence for others all the time. I'm also looking into the medical field because I want to be able to make other people's lives better on a regular basis.
Q: Tell us something
about yourself that most people don't know...
I never went a day of elementary school without wearing something green; I was obsessed.
Q: What's number one
on your bucket list and why?
I want to watch a U.S. team win the Olympics live and also to travel the world.
Q: What is your best
Probably cooking. I love coming up with different ideas to make, but I'm also pretty good at sleeping if that counts as a skill. I would sleep fourteen hours a day if I could.
Q: What is your biggest
pet peeve and why?
Laziness and complaining.
Q: What is something
you are afraid of?
I hate loud noises, and I'm also extremely scared of bees!
Q: What is an obstacle
you had to overcome in your life?
My mind! Whether it's gymnastics or in life, I tend to over think everything, get frustrated a little too easily, or try too hard to be a perfectionist.
