WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Make a difference that could change a lifetime for a William and Mary student-athlete by supporting the Tribe Club.
On Thursday, June 30th, the Tribe Club's fundraising drive for $2.8 million in fiscal year 2011 will come to an end. The College's athletics program receives no state funding, which makes the work of the Tribe Club an indispensable part of continuing the William and Mary Athletics tradition. This year's target number will provide critical operating funds for the athletics programs, which makes getting your support all the more
urgent.
The Tribe Club was established in 1948 to raise funds for William & Mary student-athlete scholarships and support their pursuit of academic and athletic excellence. Again, the fact William & Mary Athletics receives no state funding, means every donation to the Tribe Club goes towards covering critical program expenses.
While there are many reasons to support the Tribe Club, the following are very common questions a person may use when considering making a contribution to the Tribe Club:
Q: Do I believe in the value of a William & Mary education?
A: If yes, supporting the
Tribe Club helps provide opportunities for student-athletes to grow and
thrive in and out of the classroom.
Q: Do I care about seeing William & Mary student-athletes and programs excel?
A: If you want to see
William & Mary programs compete for championships every year at the
NCAA Division I level, the funding provided by the Tribe Club is a
crucial component to every program's success.
Q: As a former student-athlete, how can I give back to my specific program?
A: A gift can be restricted to directly benefit the sport of your choice!
Q: My son or daughter participates in William & Mary Athletics, how do I support his or her program?
A: Again, support can be
directly to a specific sport and in many cases can show immediate
benefits to the current group of student-athletes.
Q: Are there additional benefits for being a Tribe Club member?
A: Your support of the
Tribe Club can entitle you to preferred seating and parking for W&M
Football and Basketball. For a complete explanation of benefits, click here.
Q: In need a tax deduction for 2011?
A: All gifts to the Tribe Club are tax deductible.
In short, if you value the one-of-a-kind student-athlete experience the William and Mary Athletics Program has provided for well over 100 years, your involvement is ESSENTIAL FOR CONTINUED EXCELLENCE!
