Q: Why did you choose the Tribe?
I chose the Tribe because it had the rare
combination of academics and athletics while still being a relatively small
school. There's really nowhere else like it.
Q: Describe a moment when you felt the
most Tribe pride...
At our USAG championship meet last
year, when our team rallied together to put on the best meet I've ever seen.
Q: Take us through your pre-game mental
preparation routine:
I mostly just visualize each of my
routines and keep as relaxed as possible.
Q: Do you belong to any other clubs,
groups, or organizations?
I currently work as an intern at AidData,
a group on campus that works to provide useful information regarding foreign
aid projects around the world.
Q: What are some community activities you
or your team has done?
Each year we organize and carry out a
canned food drive in the Williamsburg area. We also teach gymnastics to young
kids every Saturday at William and Mary Hall.
Q: What is your intended or declared
major and why?
I intend to double major in Economics and
Psychology. I don't know what I want to do in the future, but I find both
subjects interesting and relevant to many aspects of society and everyday life.
Q: Describe your dream job:
I would love to work with gymnastics. I
don't know what I want to do, but I would really like to stay involved in the
sport.
Q: If you could play another sport at
W&M what would it be and why?
Definitely soccer, I played it when I was
much younger and I've always really enjoyed it.
Q: Which teammate will have the most
interesting job in 10 years and why?
J.J. because he is always thinking out of
the box. Way out of the box.
Q: What animal would best describe you
and why?
A penguin, because I can't fly.
Q: What is your favorite type of food
(i.e. Chinese, Mexican, etc.)?
Probably Italian food.
Q: Favorite place you have visited or
traveled to and why?
Turkey, its really cool to see the ruins
of the many civilizations that have passed through over the years.
Q: If you could sit down for lunch with
anyone in the world who would it be and why?
Neil Degrasse Tyson (the guy from NOVA),
because his show has fascinated me for years and is the reason for many of my
thoughts and beliefs about life and the universe.
Q: Most addicting television show?
Arrested Development, no contest.
Q: What's number one on your bucket list
and why?
I want to hike the Inca trail, that would
be amazing.
Q: What is your best non-athletic skill?
I really enjoy playing guitar.
Q: What is your biggest pet peeve and
why?
My biggest pet peeve is hearing people
complain about things that they could easily resolve if they chose to.
Q: What is something you are afraid
of?
If afraid of losing the ability to do my
sport before I accomplish the goals that I've always wanted to achieve.
Q: What is an obstacle you had to
overcome in your life?
Like many of us, I've had a good number of injuries over the years.
It's always hard to take time off and see your hard work go to waste, but in
the end it just makes you want to succeed even more.
