Williasmburg, Va. - The William and Mary women's tennis team turned in a dominating performance on Saturday afternoon, upending ACC foe Wake Forest, 6-1, at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis. The Green and Gold swept the doubles and tallied singles wins at the bottom five posts in rolling to its third victory of the season.

With the Demon Deacons only having a lineup of five players, the Tribe started out with walkover wins at the No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles positions. W&M changed the lineup around in doubles, but enjoyed its same in claiming the initial point of the match for the sixth time in the last eight matches. At the top spot, sophomores Hope Johnson and Jeltje Loomans teamed for the first time this season, rolling to an 8-2 win over Kayla Duncan and Rebecca Siegler. Junior Anik Cepeda and sophomore Maria Belaya also joined forces for the first time in knocking off Ryann Cutillo and Karen Forman, 8-4, at the No. 2 slot.

With the Tribe leading 2-0 entering singles play, the College tallied wins at the No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 slot to clinch the team victory. Playing her first dual match of the season after missing time due to injury, sophomore Kayla Rizzolo enjoyed a successful return to the Green and Gold lineup. She tallied a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Brigita Bercyte to improve to 8-3 on the year.

Belaya continued her stellar play of late, registering a straight sets win at the No. 2 position. She downed Cutillo, 7-5, 6-3, to improve to 6-3 in dual match play and an impressive 4-1 mark at the No. 2 slot. Johnson and Cepeda recorded their fourth singles wins of the year at the No. 3 and No. 4 posts, respectively. Johnson downed Siegler, 7-6 (5), 6-3, while Cepeda tallied a 6-2, 6-0 win over Karen Forman.
