Cepeda, who fell in the semifinals of the White Draw to the No. 27-ranked player in the country, rallied for a three-set win in the third-place match of the flight. After dropping the first set to North Carolina's Laura Slater, 6-1, the Tribe senior evened things with a 6-1 victory in the second, before claiming the match in a third-set super tiebreaker, 10-8. Cepeda went 3-1 at the Kitty Harrison Invite and finished the fall season with a team-best seven singles victories.
Nemchinov evened her mark at the Kitty Harrison Invite with a straight sets win in the Blue Singles Draw on Sunday. The Tribe rookie defeated Virginia Tech's Isel Martinez-Marcos, 6-3, 6-3, for her sixth win of the fall.
Smith equaled Cepeda for the team lead in singles wins during the fall with her seventh on Sunday. She won her second straight to close out the fall, downing Virginia Tech's Megan Conley, 6-4, 6-1.
W&M will kick off the 2013 dual-match season with a doubleheader at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center on Tuesday, Jan. 15. The Tribe faces instate foe Richmond at 11 a.m., before hosting UMBC at 5 p.m.
