The William and Mary men's golf team charged up the leaderboards on the second day of the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate, leaping six teams to improve to 10th overall at 917 (+53).  Georgia Southern won the 18-team tournament by eight strokes (879, +15) over host Francis Marion.  Trey Valentine of South Florida was the individual medalist, shooting a four-under 212 for the three rounds.

On point for the Tribe's move up the rankings was senior Jeremy Wells (Hopewell, Va.), who shot 73-76 in the final two rounds to finish tied for 14th at 222 (+6).  Sophomore Alex Hicks (Cape May Court House, N.J.) was one stroke back in a tie for 20th, after carding rounds of 71 and 76 to finish out his week.  Juniors Michael Bekken (Blacksburg, Va.) and Tanner Taddeo (Hendersonville, Tenn.) each shot a brace of 77's over the second and third rounds, and sophomore Joey Shroyer (Victoria Minn.) had a 77 of his own in the second round, including one of only seven eagles for the entire tournament.

The Tirbe now has a month off, before returning to action on March 24-26.  W&M will host its annual C&F Bank Intercollegiate that weekend, once again at the famed River Course at Kingsmill.
