William and Mary freshman Lindsey Winston (Henrico, Va.) earned Swimmer of the Week honors from the Colonial Athletic Association on Tuesday, after her outstanding performances at the Cavalier Invitational last weekend.  This is the first weekly honor of Winston's young career, and the third this season for the Tribe women's team.

Winston only had two swims at last weekend's meet, but made the most out of both with lifetime-bests and two of the top performances in school history.  On Saturday morning, she swam 1:52.70 in the prelims of the 200 free, which ranked her 11th in school history in the event.  That evening, rather than compete the finals, she time-trialed the 100 breaststroke, and stopped the clock in 1:04.83.  That time is just shy of the W&M freshman record in the event, and ranks Winston as the eighth-fastest athlete ever at the College.

William and Mary takes aim at its first conference title since 2007 next weekend, competing at the CAA Championships Wednesday-Saturday, Feb. 27-March 2, at George Mason.
