WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The William and Mary men's tennis duo of junior John Banks and freshman Scott Huang garnered Colonial Athletic Association Doubles Team of the Week honors, the league announced on Tuesday. The Tribe twosome compiled a perfect 3-0 mark in doubles competition over the weekend, taking home the first weekly honor of the year for the Green and Gold.

Banks and Huang ran their win streak to four with the trio of wins. The pair posted an 8-4 victory over Robbie Mudge and Simon Norenius of 34th-ranked N.C. State at the No. 3 spot to even doubles competition before the Wolfpack pulled out the initial point of the match. In the Tribe's doubleheader sweep of instate foes Liberty and Norfolk State, Banks and Huang posted wins to help W&M to the doubles points against both foes. Against the Flames, the Green and Gold duo clinched the doubles point, winning the final three points of a tiebreaker at the third post in tallying an 8-7 (7) triumph over Siim Tuus and Stan Vaughan. The Tribe pair defeated Norfolk State's Samuel Lemberger and Igor Braga, 8-5, at the No. 2 spot, helping W&M to the doubles point in a 6-1 triumph over the Spartans.

Banks and Huang are 5-1 overall on the season, including a perfect 4-0 ledger in dual-match play. The CAA weekly award marked the second in Bank's career after he earned a Doubles Team of the Week honor last season, while it was Huang's first career award.

The Tribe returns to action with a trio of home matches this weekend. The Green and Gold hosts No. 48 South Carolina on Friday, Feb. 22, at 6 p.m. W&M closes out the weekend with a Sunday doubleheader on Feb. 24 against Penn State and George Mason at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., respectively. All three matches will be played at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center and live stats will be available at TribeAthletics.com.
