MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The William and Mary men's tennis team closed out play at the 65th annual Blue Gray National Classic with a victory, bouncing Troy, 4-1, on Sunday morning. The Green and Gold claimed the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions, before senior Adrian Vodislav, junior John Banks and freshman Scott Huang tallied singles wins in helping the Tribe snap a seven-match losing skid. W&M moved to 7-12 on the season, while Troy fell to 7-9.

The Tribe's No. 3 doubles duo of junior Ben Hoogland and Huang started W&M off on the right foot with their first win as a pair. The Green and Gold tandem downed Tommy Cundy and Andre Stabile, 8-4, at No. 3. With both the No. 1 and No. 2 matches going down to the wire, junior Ben Guthrie and Banks clinched the doubles point with a 9-7 win over Anas Rouchdi and Patrick Eichler at the second slot. Banks and Guthrie evened their season mark at 4-4, including a 2-2 ledger in dual-match play.

Despite a Troy victory at the top singles position, the Tribe claimed the team triumph with wins at the bottom three singles spots. Vodislav won his seventh match of the season and fifth in dual-match play. He downed Daniel Bustamante, 6-1, 6-2, at the No. 4 post.

Huang and Banks rounded out the Tribe win with victories at the No. 5 and No. 6 positions. Huang improved to 2-1 at the No. 5 post with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Andre Stabile. It  also marked his ninth win of the season. Banks pushed his team-high wins total to 14 with his victory on Sunday. The Tribe junior upended Tadju Davies, 6-1, 6-4, to improve to 3-1 at the No. 6 singles position.

The Tribe returns to action when it closes out the regular season with six straight home matches, before hosting the CAA Championship, April 19-21. W&M kicks off its six-match homestand with a Saturday doubleheader on March 23. The Green and Gold opens the double dip with No. 22 Notre Dame at 10 a.m., before hosting Morgan State at 5 p.m. Both matches are scheduled to be played at the Millie West Tennis Facility.
