WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (March 21, 2013)—The William and Mary football program held its annual pro day this morning at Zable Stadium, as 11 former Tribe players worked out for representatives from 10 NFL teams.
Among the teams on hand holding the NFL combine-style workout were the San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots, Houston Texans, New Orleans Saints, Washington Redskins, New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals, and Carolina Panthers.
The Tribe players participating in the event were B.W. Webb, Alex Gottlieb, Bryan Jean-Pierre, Meltoya Jones, D.J. McAulay, Jabrel Mines, C.J. Thomas, Andy Topping, Derek Toon, Brian Thompson and Mike Salazar.
W&M currently has six players on NFL rosters – David Caldwell (New York Giants), Derek Cox (San Diego Chargers), Jonathan Grimes (Jacksonville Jaguars), Mike Leach (Arizona Cardinals), Sean Lissemore (Dallas Cowboys) and Adrian Tracy (New York Giants).
Since 2009, W&M has produced three NFL draft picks, a figure that leads the Colonial Athletic Association and ranks behind only Virginia and Virginia Tech among programs in the state.
