WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (April 2, 2013)—After posting outstanding seasons, four members of the William and Mary women’s gymnastics team will compete at the Gainesville NCAA Regional on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Honored as the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year, Brittany Stover enters Saturday’s meet ranked 15th in all-around in the Southeast Region with a RQS of 38.755. Her highlights this season included winning the all-around title at the ECAC Championship and breaking the school record in all-around versus Yale (39.150).
Pritchard also ranks among the region’s top all-arounders and owns a RQS of 38.630 this season. Selected as the ECAC Co-Gymnast of the Year, she earned all-conference honors on floor and in all-around at the ECAC Championship last weekend. One of her best performances of the season came in the victory against Yale when she established career highs in all-around (39.025), bars (9.850) and floor (9.875). The outstanding all-around score ranks tied for third all-time at W&M, while the bars score ranks tied for seventh in school history.
Brandy Stover enters Saturday’s competition ranked 17th on beam in the Southeast Region with a RQS of 9.815. The New Albany, Ind., native garnered first-team all-conference distinction at the ECAC Championship last weekend after placing second. Additionally, she posted a score of 9.825 on beam four times this season.
W&M’s school-record holder on floor, Lundeen ranks 16th on floor in the Southeast Region with a RQS of 9.850. Last weekend, she claimed the ECAC individual event title with a 9.925, marking the second time in the last three meets that she recorded the impressive record-setting score.
