William and Mary senior Natalie Baird (Sterling, Va.) earned her second Field Athlete of the Week award from the Colonial Athletic Association Tuesday, after she threw the conference's best mark of the year last week at the Penn Relays.  This is the fourth weekly honor of Baird's career and second of the season, and marks the sixth award of the spring for the Tribe women's track and field team.

Competing in the discus last Thursday, Baird threw a distance of 47.24m (155-0) to take eighth overall.  In addition to being the longest throw of the spring for any CAA athlete, it was also Baird's fifth-longest throw ever.  She now has the top 26 discus performances in school history, and re-qualified once again for the ECAC Championships.  Baird finished in the top-10 at the Penn Relays all four of her competitive seasons.

Baird and her teammates will aim for the CAA title this weekend, competing at the conference championships on Friday and Saturday at Towson.
