BALTIMORE, Md. (July 24, 2013) — Junior wide receiver Tre McBride and sophomore linebacker Luke Rhodes garnered preseason all-conference honors at the 2013 Colonial Athletic Association Media Day at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md., on Wednesday.

Additionally, the league’s preseason poll was announced at the event, as the Tribe was picked to finish ninth. Both the preseason all-conference team and preseason poll were selected based on a vote by the CAA’s 11 head coaches and media relations personnel.

A second-team All-CAA selection last season, McBride led W&M with 55 receptions for 897 yards with 10 touchdowns in 2012. The touchdown total ranked second in the league and tied for fifth on the program’s single-season record list. The McDonough, Ga., native also led the team with 1,130 all-purpose yards and ranked third in the conference in yards per catch (16.3), fourth in receiving yards per game (81.5), seventh in receptions per game (5.0) and eighth in all-purpose yards per game (102.7).

One of the nation’s top freshmen last season, Rhodes was one of just 16 players selected to the Jerry Rice Award Watch List and garnered third-team all-conference honors. The Hollidaysburg, Pa., native finished the season with 72 tackles, 4.0 tackles for a loss, a forced fumble and three PBUs. One of his best performances came in his collegiate debut in the season opener at Maryland when he recorded 11 tackles with 1.5 TFL, while he posted a career-high 13 tackles at James Madison.

The Tribe will open the 2013 campaign at West Virginia on Aug. 31. Season tickets are available for purchase by calling the W&M Ticket Office at 757-221-3340 or by clicking here.
