RICHMOND, Va. - William and Mary junior Will Juggins was named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced on Tuesday. Juggins, who also earned the award on Feb. 26, garnered the distinction after clinching the Tribe’s come-from-behind 4-3 win at Old Dominion on Saturday.

It marked the eighth award in 10 weeks for the Green and Gold, including the fourth singles accolade. It was Juggins' fourth overall award this season as he was also named to the CAA Doubles Team of the Week on two occasions.

Trailing ODU, 3-1, the Tribe railed to draw event at three with the balance of the contest coming down to the No. 3 spot as Juggins faced the Monarchs’ Zvonimir Podvinski. After dropping the first set, 6-3, to Podvinski, the Tribe junior rallied to tie it with a 6-4 win the second. Juggins outlasted Podvinski, 6-4, in the decisive third set to clinch the Tribe’s win at ODU and cement 10 points in the Optima Health Challenge. It marked his 17th singles win of the season while improving to 13-8 in dual-match play.

The win at ODU upped W&M’s lead in the Optima Health Challenge to 50-35 with just two contests left in the challenge. The Optima Health Challenge is a running score of all the direct competitions between the two schools with the winner claiming the Optima Health Challenge Trophy. Only baseball (on April 15) and lacrosse (on April 26) remain in the Challenge as W&M looks to win the trophy for the first time in the three-year history of the event.

Along with Juggins, freshman Damon Niquet (April 1) and senior Ben Guthrie (Feb. 19) have earned singles player of the week honors this season. On four occasions, W&M has taken home CAA Doubles Team of the Week award with two teams winning the honor twice. Guthrie and freshman Addison Appleby received the distinction for the second time on March 5th, while Juggins and junior Aaron Chaffee won the award for the second time on March 25th.

The Tribe will be the No. 3 seed in the CAA Championship this weekend at the Millie West Tennis Facility. W&M opens the event against No. 6 seed Hofstra on Friday, April 18, at 9 a.m. The CAA semifinals are set for 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, with the championship match on Sunday, April 20, at 10 a.m.
