Tribe Men Earn IC4A Qualifier at Princeton on Friday

The William and Mary men's track and field team turned in several top marks Friday at two meets, collecting another IC4A qualifier at the mid-point of the season.  The Tribe is competing at the New Captains Classic at CNU, as well as at the Larry Ellis Invitational in Princeton.

At Princeton, senior Rad Gunzenhauser (Pittsburgh, Pa.) ran 14:23.92 to qualify for the IC4A Championships at 5,000m.  Jacob Sears (Cary, N.C.) improved his lifetime-best by more than 15 seconds to cross the line in 14:36.38, and freshman Faris Sakallah (Chantilly, Va.) ran a 10-second personal-best to finish in 14:47.42.  In the 800m, senior David Gunnerson (Yorktown, Va.) was the top finisher for the Tribe, running 1:56.65.

At CNU, W&M's representatives included sophomore Taylor Frenia (Virginia Beach, Va.), who was second overall in the hammer throw.  Frenia threw 49.05m (160-11), and senior Matt Renn (Annandale, Va.) recorded a throw of 40.49m (132-10).

Both meets continue all day Saturday, starting at CNU at 11 a.m. and at Princeton at 12:20 p.m.
