Abby Junior Honored as CAA Rookie of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. (April 21, 2014)—After an impressive pair of performances last week, William and Mary freshman Abby Junior has been selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week.

In the Tribe’s games against Hofstra and Drexel, Junior totaled a team-high four caused turnovers with three draw controls and three ground balls. 

The Wayne, Pa., native’s best effort came in the win against Drexel when she recorded three ground balls, three draw controls and three caused turnovers.

Junior currently ranks tied for fifth in the CAA with 1.47 caused turnovers per game, while she has also totaled 22 ground balls and 13 draw controls.

The Tribe will return to action this weekend when it closes out the season against Old Dominion for senior day on Saturday at 1 p.m. The contest will be part of the Optima Health Challenge, which is a yearlong competition between W&M and ODU.
