Events get started on Friday night with the finals of the 5,000m and the 10,000m.  In the former, sophomore Meghan McGovern (North Wales, Pa.) will be joined by junior Carolyn Hennessey (Herndon, Va.).  McGovern broke the CAA record for the second year in a row and won her second conference title two weeks ago, running 16:30.  She was an NCAA qualifier in the 5,000m last year, and ran 9:26 in the 3,000m at the Penn Relays last month.  Hennessey is looking to replicate her strong showing from indoors, when she ran a lifetime-best 16:41 for fourth place and All-East honors at the ECAC indoor meet.  Shortly thereafter, junior Dylan Hassett (Alpharetta, Ga.) will run the 10,000m.  Also an NCAA qualifier in the event last year, Hassett ran a career-best 34:53 at the Penn Relays this spring, and won her first CAA title in the event two weeks ago.

Saturday, races include the prelims of the 400m hurdles and the 4x800m relay, as well as the finals of the javelin.  The throwing event will see the return of sophomore Katie Johnston (Haddonfield, N.J.), who won her second-straight CAA title two weeks ago with a lifetime-best throw of 152-1.  This year is the 26th anniversary of the W&M school record, 153-6, set at the 1988 ECAC meet.  In the 400m hurdles, Ashley Woodards (Franklinville, N.J.) is looking for both an NCAA bid and the school record of 1:01.14, which was set at the 1990 ECAC Championships.  Woodards won the CAA title two weeks ago in 1:01.78, the second-best time ever, and a PR of more than three seconds over her previous best before that weekend.  She is the first CAA Champion in the 400m hurdles for W&M since 1990.  The 4x800m relay will see the team of Heather Clagett (Norfolk, Va.), Shelby Feliciano (Winchester, Va.), Olivia Harding (Roanoke, Va.), and Claire Tito (Richmond, Va.) racing for the first time since the Colonial Relays.  The same four women timed 9:06 then, but their personal-bests combined are a mere 8:56.

Sunday, in addition to the finals of the 4x800m and the 400m hurdles, final events will include the pole vault and the 3,000m run.  In the pole vault, junior Elizabeth Crafford (Darien, Conn.) is coming off of a personal-best outdoor height of 3.81m (12-6) last week at UVA.  Crafford was the silver-medalist at the ECAC indoor meet this year with a lifetime-best 3.85m (12-7.5), and will be aiming for another big personal-best again this week of near 13 feet to extend her season to the NCAA semifinals.  In the final event of the weekend, the 3,000m, senior Elaina Balouris (Allison Park, Pa.) will be looking for her first ECAC title after five All-American awards.  Balouris set the school record indoors at 9:23.03, and will also be aiming for the outdoor record of 9:18.25.  The collegiate leader this year in the event is 8:51 (from indoors) and 9:07 outdoors from the Penn Relays three weeks ago.
